How to Make Internet Faster

Expert Author Tomas Rochett

Internet service providers usually offer multiple plans to their customers, and the primary factor that differentiates one plan from another is speed. If you want a faster internet connection, you are best served by subscribing to a faster plan. You cannot subscribe to a 1 Mbps plan and expect to download files at 20 Mbps. However, once you have subscribed to a fast plan, there are many factors that can reduce the effective speed of your internet connection. How to make internet faster then? The following tips should help you do just that.

Every modern browser has a disk cache which is used to store offline content. Whenever you use your browser to access a page for the first time, the browser will store the page in its disk cache. So the next time you visit the same page, and if the page has not been changed, the browser will not have to download it again it will merely load the page from the disk cache and display it. All this happens behind the scenes, and because it happens locally itself, the page can be loaded almost instantaneously. The same applies to other media such as video from YouTube, images etc. By increasing your browsers disk cache, you can significantly increase your effective internet speed.

A number of processes slow down a computer's effective internet speed by accessing the internet in the background. If you are using a peer-to-peer file sharing software, make sure it is not accessing the internet in the background. Even if it is not downloading any files, it can still eat into your bandwidth by uploading files. If you have Windows 7, you can find out the processes that are using your bandwidth by accessing the Resource Monitor. The Resource Monitor shows all active processes, and the bandwidth used by them, under the Network tab. Kill or stop all processes that are wasting your bandwidth.

Another step you can take to get faster internet connection is to use a faster domain name server. Most internet service providers have a fairly fast connection, but their domain name servers are relatively slow. You can change the settings of your internet connection to use a free and faster domain name server such as OpenDns or Google Public DNS.

When you want a faster internet connection, you have to start by subscribing to a faster plan. Once you have the fastest connection you can afford, you should use the tips mentioned above to optimize your computer and get a faster web browsing experience.

Faster Internet Speed Tips and Secrets

If you want to surf the web and download/upload faster, while this isn't going to be a revelation to anyone, you need to have Broadband Internet Service (such as a Cable, DSL or "T1 or T3" connection). If you have telephone modem service, forget it Jack- you lose, you'll never get fast internet speed ever, you can't squeeze blood out of a stone!

So to pass "Go", step 1 is to get Broadband Internet Service! Of these, usually a "T" line is the fastest and most expensive and "Cable" and "DSL" both have their pluses and minuses. I have Cable Internet Service which is quite fast and the pluses are your connection is by cable rather than a phone line. The negatives are the more people using the Cable line at the same time will slow down your internet speed. With DSL which is also fast, you are using a phone line but are not affected by the amount of people on DSL at the same time. Basically it's your call for which service is best for your situation. Before I go on, factors like the amount of memory your computer has, the processor speed and the hard drive space, could affect internet speed to a degree and I'd try especially in regards to memory and processor speed, to get the maximum you can afford.

Even though you have Broadband, you still might not be happy with your internet speed because: 1. Your cache is too large, 2. You have adware/spyware/viruses on your computer, 3. Your modem needs rebooting, and 4. You don't have an internet speed accelerator. I'll now go over what to do on each of these:

In the case of your cache being too large, it could slow down your speed and I recommend you get software that clears the cache on your internet browser whether it be Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, etc. The software I recommend is (Webroot ) Window Washer. I would use this software daily but do not have your browser window open when you do. This will clear your cache.

Adware/Spyware and viruses definitely can slow your internet speed down. I would get a decent anti-spyware/adware program to get this stuff off your computer and run it every few days. I would have a decent anti-virus program as well and scan for viruses at least weekly. Note, if you go to Porn sites and some MP3 download sites, your computer will in all likelihood pick up spyware/adware, so ask yourself if it's worth it because chances are your internet speed will be affected. I'd recommend you use (Webroot) Spyware Doctor and/or (PC Tools) Registry Mechanic to get rid of this stuff and also NOD 32 for your anti-virus software, as it doesn't slow down your internet speed and computer like some other anti-virus programs do. I would try to avoid most Internet Security Software as they tend to slow down internet speed as well.

Every so often, your internet carrier for some reason loses a connection on your modem and when they resume for some reason your internet speed runs slower. When that happens, you need to reboot your modem. Just unplug the power cord for about a minute and then reconnect it to the socket. Your modem will reboot and the speed should be back to the way its suppose to be.

Lastly, I would get internet accelerator software. This software maximizes your computer's settings for faster downloads and internet response. I actually use two programs for this: Ascentive ActiveSpeed and Uniblue SpeedUpMyPC. I run ActiveSpeed first and SpeedUpMyPC right after. I run both programs after I've rebooted my computer or when I've added or deleted software programs.

The end result from following the above steps should be to get your internet speed including downloads, running consistently faster then before.

How to Fix Slow Internet Speed on Windows 7

Getting a slow Internet connection on Windows 7 is extremely annoying and frustrating. If your Internet is running slow on this system, then the good news is that you can speed it up pretty easily by fixing some very simple and common problems that often make it slow. Here's what you need to do...

The first thing you need to do is to Close Any Programs Other Than Your Web Browser - Many people tend to "multi task" on Windows, opening many different programs at once. Although this is great for productivity, it actually slows down your Internet connection by effectively "splitting" it between your programs. This means that if your Internet was a pie, your browser would only be getting a small part of it - making it seem really slow. In order to speed it up, you need to make sure your browser gets the whole share of your connection, which is done by closing any of the other programs that you might have open in Windows; especially all the Internet messengers and email programs.

After you've done that, you can then use a little trick that will boost your connection speed dramatically. The "trick" to making Windows 7 Internet speed a lot faster is to clean out all damaged settings that Windows 7 uses to run your Internet. The problem with many Windows 7 computers is that they have so many settings that your system gets confused about which ones it has open and saves many of them in the wrong way, causing your entire PC (and Internet) to run slower.

The problem that many Windows 7 computers have is actually down to the registry database, which stores all the settings for your PC. Every time you want to browse the Internet, 100's of settings from the registry are called to help Windows 7 process all the web pages and content extremely quickly. However, because there are so many Internet settings open at once, Windows often gets confused and saves a lot of them in the wrong way, causing your computer to struggle to read them, slowing it down.

You can Clean Out The Registry Database to make your Windows 7 Internet speed really fast. To do this, you should use a "registry cleaner", which is a software program that will scan through your PC and fix any damaged registry files inside it. There are a lot of registry cleaners on the Internet, and if you can get one which is able to clean out the most damaged / corrupted files on Windows 7, you'll be able to make your computer and Internet run a lot faster and smoother again.

In order to make Windows 7 Internet fast you can use a 'registry cleaner' to fix all the errors it has inside. You can download a registry cleaner to fix slow Internet speed on Windows 7.

How To Speed Up Your Broadband Internet Connection - Make Broadband Really Fast Again

Broadband running slow? Your Internet is tricking along? This problem could be caused by a number of potential problems - but is almost always caused by a certain part of your computer called the "registry". This is a database which all Windows PCs use to store important options & settings, and is vital for the continued smooth operation of your system. If you are experiencing slow Internet speeds, you have to be able to repair any of the potential problems that Windows could have inside - which can be done by using the steps on this page.

Why Do Broadband Connections Run Slow?

There are a lot of potential reasons why broadband Internet connections will run slower, with everything from the Internet speed itself being slow to your computer to your system having software that doesn't work correctly. The problem that many people have is that they simply don't know what can be causing their Internet connections to run slower - preventing them from improving the speed again.

Here are some of the problems that can cause it to run slower:

  • Your computer is trying to use too many programs on the Internet
  • Your PC does not have sufficient Internet bandwidth (is sharing with the likes of network PCs)
  • Your computer is not able to read the settings & options that your computer needs to run

How To Make Your Broadband Run Faster

1) Stop any unnecessary programs from running - The first step is to stop any programs from running which you don't want / need on your PC. This can be done by clicking onto "Start" and then selecting "Control Panel", followed by "Add / Remove Programs". This will allow you to select the applications you don't want, and uninstall them from your system.

2) Make sure your network computers are working correctly - The next step is to make sure that you don't have any computers on your network which are taking up valuable Internet bandwidth. We've found that if a networked machine (I.E the likes of a games console or other PC) will be using up too much Internet bandwidth, your Internet connection will slow down as a result. To fix this, you should make sure that your networked PCs are not running too many Internet connections / programs

3) Clean Out The Registry Of Your PC - Finally, you need to be able to clean out any registry errors that you may have on your system. The registry is a central database which stores all the important settings & options for Windows inside, and is where the likes of your Internet favorites and connection settings are kept. If you're experiencing any problems on your system, it's likely caused by registry errors - meaning that if you want to fix these problems, you should clean out the registry database of your PC by downloading a registry cleaner onto your system & fixing it for good.

Make My Internet Faster - Maximize Your Wireless Internet Speed

If the computers in your home are connected on a Wi-Fi network, then you have probably realized by now that wireless connection can be quite unpredictable and slow at times. Most Internet users are used to opening web pages that load almost instantaneously.

When opening a web page takes a few minutes longer, it can be a frustrating experience, especially in the age where everything has to be quick and fast. I myself have a wireless internet connection at home, if I were to make my Internet faster, there are some techniques I can employ to maximize the performance of my wireless connection, and hopefully, it can help you too.

When you set up your desktop computer, make sure that it is in an area where it is unobstructed by thick walls and strong electronic devices. Walls are actually one of the biggest problems when it comes to setting up a wireless network inside a house. Walls and large electronic devices can disrupt the signal from your wireless router to your computer, so make sure that it is free of all that.

Many of us tend to put our computer work station next to a wall. It would be okay if the wireless router is on the same side of the wall as your computer or laptop, but if it is on the other side of the wall, a low signal should be expected. The signals from a wireless router just cannot go through walls, especially thick ones.

If you are using a laptop, try to walk with it around your home and find the areas where you can get the strongest signal. There areas in your home where there is a strong signal are known hot spots. This area is where you should set up your desktop computer, if you have one or are planning to get one.

If you have a two story home, it would be next to impossible to get a good signal on the second floor if your wireless router is situated on the ground floor. You may need to use some sort of signal amplifier on this one. Nevertheless, you should canvass the entire house for hot spots so you will know which areas have good reception and which ones have none.

Aside from finding the hot spots, you should also make sure that you put your wireless router in a wide open room. This is how I make my Internet faster; making sure that the wireless router is in an elevated location. This way, your wireless router can provide the best coverage and maximize its range as well. You may notice that when you go to a public location that has Wi-Fi, the wireless router is usually attached high on the wall.

Sometimes, it is even mounted on ceiling. This is to acquire maximum coverage and optimal signal range. Take this technique and apply it to your own wireless home network. You should also make sure that your wireless router is sitting next to a huge electronic device that transmits strong signals; these signals can interrupt the signals coming from your router to your workstation.

The Latest Wireless Internet Developments Made Simple

Technology changes so quickly these days, that many Americans have trouble keeping up with all of the newest developments. Unless you live in the Pacific Northwest or northern California, where nearly all of the country's big technological developments take place, then you probably struggle to understand the latest advances in wireless internet technology and how those affect all of the new gadgets that are available in stores all across the country. In a nutshell, Wi-Fi technology has recently undergone a big improvement, as a newer generation of the service has become available. Over several years, Wi-Fi technology has evolved from the first generation that was released, to the current fourth generation, which is four times faster than the third generation before it. As every generation of Wi-Fi technology gets faster, it enables companies to develop all kinds of new products that can utilize the internet much more. Since 4G internet networks are so much faster, new products have been developed that enable people to transfer much larger data files because the Wi-Fi networks are now fast enough to handle those large data demands.

In the past, if you wanted to download a song to put on a portable music player, you originally had to plug the device into a computer that was connected to the internet through some sort of cable (either a dial-up landline or Ethernet connection). Pretty quickly, however, people realized how inconvenient that was, and it became possible for music fans to download songs with their portable music player hooked up to a computer that could get online wirelessly. Still though, wireless internet connections weren't quick enough to download songs as fast as wired connections were, so the wireless technology wasn't as useful to as many people as it could have been. Today though, nearly every portable music player on the market is able to connect to the internet wirelessly on its own, so music fans no longer have to lug their computers around with themselves just to download a song or two.

While wireless internet technology has developed in ways that benefit people with portable music players, new developments in this technology go far beyond that. Today, nearly every technological device you can think of can utilize Wi-Fi technology to allow users to go online. Laptops, smartphones, tablet computers, eBook readers, TVs, video game consoles and many other products are all designed to go online. Many of those devices are designed to require users to download or stream large amounts of data, which is why it's so important to have a fast Wi-Fi connection. For example, people are now steaming videos or downloading them, and either way those both require large data transfers. Home viewers want to be able to watch those TV shows and movies without experiencing any glitches, and with quick 4G internet connections they can. Many people also download video games directly to their consoles, they download books to their eReaders, and all kinds of applications for their smartphones or tablet computers. No matter what kinds of devices you own, you'll probably be working with large amounts of data, which will require you to have a strong internet service.

Wi-Fi WiMAX: The Fast and Reliable Wireless Connectivity Protocol

In this day and age, Internet mobility is very important. The Internet is no longer just a place for leisure; many things in the world these days live off of it. For one, the Internet can generate good income. With the millions of small, medium and big businesses based off of it, the market value of the Internet must be priceless. Also, the Internet is a primary mode of communication. Not a lot of people know how having a good Internet connection can save lives. A good example would be the tsunami disaster in Aceh back in 2004. Everything was a disaster then. Communicating via phone lines was impossible. But amidst all the limitations then, rescuers and aids were able to communicate... by using the Internet. There are many ways to get connected these days, but one of the most impressive and innovative modes of connecting to the Internet is called Wi-Fi WiMAX.

Wi-Fi WiMAX is basically a wide-scale telecommunications protocol that gives mobile and other devices access to the Internet wherever they are. WiMAX uses wireless technology paired with high-end equipment to provide those who sign up for the service unlimited access to the Internet. Wi-Fi WiMAX provides people with reliable connectivity wherever they are. People might mix up Wi-Fi WiMAX with traditional Wi-Fi connectivity. These two are actually different. You see, Wi-Fi provides people with Internet connectivity but within a certain range only. WiMAX, on the other hand, works in a way larger scale. Also, WiMAX is independent of any wired connection. As you may or may not know, Wi-Fi work in such a way where a wireless router is connected to a line or cable- based Internet connection. WiMAX technology is totally standalone. It works on its own and doesn't depend on any kind of local connection. Although both use wireless technology, these to are very different in nature.

If you want to know how effective Wi-Fi WiMAX is, all you have to do is go back the example given previously. In 2004, WiMAX wasn't in wide use to the public yet. The main medium for all the communications in Aceh then was actually WiMAX. Everyone was solely dependent on WiMAX technology to communicate. As you would guess, if WiMAX wasn't reliable enough, it wouldn't have been used in such a sensitive situation, such as a large scale disaster. Nowadays, of course, WiMAX is fully accessible to the public. Most developed countries have WiMAX available. Some developing countries also offer WiMAX services. Wi-Fi WiMAX is definitely the future of, not just mobile, but Internet connectivity. It is currently being developed so that it will be able to connect with speeds of up to 1 Gbit/second. With that kind of speed, paired with the perks of being wireless, it is definitely the connection to beat. WiMAX technology is definitely worth a try. Trying it out would be like having a taste of the future. For a reliable and fast wireless connection, all you need is WiMAX wireless technology.

You can create short status updates that explain what you've been up to, upload photos or videos from recent things you've done, invite your friends to different events you create, and publish other information you want to share with your friends. Many people also enjoy Facebook because it enables them to reconnect with their old friends that they may have lost contact with.

2. Twitter is an even newer and faster online communication form. Twitter limits the number of characters you can use to communicate with, which naturally forces people who use it to communicate quickly. With wireless internet access, you can instantly get connected to Twitter to leave short messages for your friends to see. It's a great networking opportunity that can connect you to many more people beyond your immediate friends and family, and many people are finding that they can even make network to create great employment opportunities for themselves. To fully utilize all of the benefits of Twitter, make sure you can easily access the website with a fast Wi-Fi connection.

Rural High Speed Internet Options - Don't Just Stick With Dial Up

Expert Author Christopher JA Wang

When you are living out in a rural area, typically your high speed internet options are fairly limited. You might think you are stuck with dial up connections, but today there are many more options that you can consider using so that you can have faster internet speeds.

The most popular type of high speed internet for those in rural areas is satellite internet. This has as high initial cost as you need to purchase the dish and get someone to professionally install it to get you a good signal. These tend to have a higher monthly fee and data limits that you have to be careful with. You need to look for service plans that don't charge additional money if you go over the limit. The best ones will just slow down your speed as opposed to charging you more.

Some go for long range wifi. These are very tall antennas that you get installed to your home. These will pick up a wifi signal long range and are fairly reliable. You won't get as fast speeds as with other things but there are normally no limits on your data usage.

If you have a smart phone, you might be able to tether it to your computer. If you have 3g access in the rural area you live in, this is something you could use for your internet access. Most cell phone plans will limit you to about 5 gigabytes of data, but this is great compared to a dial up connection. It's not as fast as DSL or cable, but it's better than nothing.

There are also broadband cellular connections. These have very low initial cost and the monthly fees are competitive with most broadband plans. Look for plans without caps or contracts as these are starting to come out and become more popular. If you can't find one like this, you will be dealing with 5 gigabyte caps just like when tethering a phone.

If you want to read up on some other great articles written by the same author, Christopher has written many great articles that help people shop smarter on plastic storage containers.

Speed up your internet by 20%

Microsoft reserves 20% of your available bandwidth for their own purposes like Windows Updates and interrogating your PC etc

You can get it back:

Click Start then Run and type "gpedit.msc" without quotes. This opens the group policy editor. Then go to:
Local Computer Policy
then Computer Configuration
then Administrative Templates then Network then QOS Packet Scheduler and then to Limit Reservable Bandwidth.

Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth. It will say it is not configured, but the truth is under the 'Explain' tab i.e."By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default."
So the trick is to ENABLE reservable bandwidth, then set it to ZERO. This will allow the system to reserve nothing, rather than the default 20%.It works on Win 2000 as well
.

Increase the speed of your internet connection without a new modem

As more and more people get quick connections to the internet, such as cable or ADSL, it becomes apparent to the user of a simple dial-up modem that the World Wide Web can quickly turn into the World Wide Wait. Here a trick that can help speed up your current modem without shelling out the big bucks.

There is a setting located in your windows registry called the Maximum Transfer Unit (MTU). This determines the size of the packets of data sent between your and your server. In Windows 95, this setting is has a value of 1,500 bytes when the actual size of internet packets is 1,000 bytes. This can sometimes slow things down. To remedy the situation, simply follow these steps:

In the registry editor (Start > Run > regedit.exe), navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\NetTrans. In the NetTrans folder you should find another folder named "000x" in which x represents a fourth digit. Right-click on the "000x" folder and select New and StringValue. Rename the item that appears in the panel on the right side to MaxMTU, then double-click it to bring up the Edit String box and give it a velue of 1002.

Remember to keep playing with the MaxMTU value until you feel that your internet connection has greatly sped up. Some people report huge speed gains using this tricks, while others hardly notice a difference. In any case, it's definetly worth a try.

Fast Ethernet: Your Gateway To The Fastest Connection Available

By

Have you ever heard of fast Ethernet? Allow us to introduce you to one of the fastest Internet speeds available today. The ordinary Ethernet has a speed of only ten megabytes per second, and the fast Ethernet surpasses that. Amazing isn't it? The ordinary Ethernet is known as 10Base-T, referring to its speed per second, the new and improved is now called 100Base-T. Let me tell you more about it.

If you are working in a company or if you own one, you are probably familiar with the term LAN, or Local Area Network. This is the network which you connect to, allowing you to gain access to important information which is necessary for your daily office work. Once you attach the cable to the port, you get instant access to the office network. But LAN wasn't always as fast as Fast Ethernet. Let us take a look at the evolution in order to understand more about it.

The first LAN connections were really slow, as slow as two megabytes per second. This was due to the material used for the cable. They were using coaxial cables back then, which did not really give out good results when it comes to speed. They basically set up a few computers that were interconnected in a network, which is called LAN.

Then the UTP wires came. As technology improved, more advancement in LAN connectivity was discovered. People found more ways to increase the speed of the connection. This time, they found it through the twisted UTP cable. Their twisted feature allows it to be able to be bent and manipulated in any way possible. Its cables were so thin that it was easy to fit them in really small spaces and corners.

More changes took place for the better, and the hub connection came. Hubs now replaced the drops sent from the cables; they were now interconnected through hub ports. Although the system did not change much, people preferred this back then.

The first ever Ethernet that took LAN by storm was the 10Base-T network or Ethernet LAN. It dramatically increased the speed to a whooping ten megabytes per second. But as companies grew and their needs changed, the need for more speed came, and people had to look at the Ethernet as nothing but a slow connection.

Giving out a speed of 100 megabytes per second, the speed really improved and satisfied everyone's need for a faster connection. The innovations were such a breakthrough that most companies are still using Fast Ethernet today.

Today, there are more innovations that can surpass the speed of the Fast Ethernet. There are plenty of things to watch out for, especially since companies are planning to get increased speeds. If you want a faster speed connection for your company, ask your service provider about the best speed available today or ask them about what truly fits the needs of your company. 5 Reasons Verizon Fios High Speed Internet Service is Better Than Cable Internet

By
Expert Author Russell Blanc

It used to be that cable Internet service was considered the gold standard, the best that you could get. But these days Verizon FiOS is surpassing cable Internet service as the industry standard for the best service available. The cutting edge technology being used by Verizon is raising the bar for other companies in the industry.

Have you thought about switching to the new Verizon FiOS Internet service but haven't really made up your mind yet? If you're still on the fence about whether or not you want to switch from cable Internet service to Verizon FiOS High Speed Internet service, here are 5 reasons you should take the plunge and switch:

1. Verizon FiOS High Speed Internet service is faster

Most cable companies offer a maximum speed of 8 mega bytes per second, and you can expect to pay lot even for that speed. With the Verizon FiOS service you can get speeds of 5 mega bytes per second, 15 mega bytes per second or an impressive 30 mega bytes per second depending on what speed you need. And you will pay about the same prices as you'd pay for the 8 mega byte per second speed from the local cable company.

2. Verizon FiOS High Speed Internet Offers Online Flexibility

Do you want to be able to watch videos and TV shows online, download your favorite music, watch movies from online movie rental sites and take advantage of all the other multi-media applications on the Web? Try doing it with a cable Internet connection and you'll get frustrated fast. Verizon FiOS High Speed Internet service has the power to handle multi-media on the web without slow loading time and interrupted streams.

3. Verizon FiOS High Speed Internet - More Value for Same Cost

In most places Verizon FiOS Internet plans cost about the same as local cable companies charge for their slower Internet connections. If you take advantage of some of the pricing deals and service bundles that Verizon offers (Verizon FiOS Triple Play), you can get an Internet service that is much faster than cable for less than the cost of cable. If you decide to get Verizon FiOS TV, digital phone service and Internet service bundled together you can save a lot of money with the Triple Play bundle.

4. Less Down Time with Verizon FiOS Internet

When there are a lot of users on an Internet connection that connection will slow down or you could get dropped off the Internet all together. That happens a lot to cable Internet users because cable companies use copper wires as the base structure of their network. These wires can't support having a lot of users at once. The Verizon FiOS High Speed Internet service uses fiber optic cables that can accommodate a lot more users, so it's very rare for anyone to get dropped or for the Internet connection to go down.

5. Verizon FiOS High Speed Internet is the Future

Soon all the satellite and cable companies will be forced to switch to a fiber optic network similiar to the Verizon FiOS network in order to stay competitive, so why wait? Fiber optics is the future of Internet and TV technology and Verizon can give it to you for about the same cost as cable.

DSL Internet is a Simple and Easy Way to Get Fast Internet Service

By

DSL - which stands for Digital Subscriber Line - is a great way to get high-speed internet service, without having to get a cable modem, or live in an area that has cable lines. DSL providers have very fast and comparatively cheap internet connectivity.

To explain DSL, it is a way to enjoy high-speed internet using your telephone line, just as you would for dial up. Except that it has so many more advantages than a regular internet service could provide.

Have a look at some of the great ways that DSL internet can benefit your home or business:

- With a DSL installation, you can keep your internet connection open, and still use the same telephone line for phone calls; both incoming and outgoing.

- The internet speed that you can obtain with a quality DSL provider is much greater than that of a regular dial-up modem. To compare, you can get an average of 1.5 Mbps with a DSL modem, as opposed to only 56 Kbps with a dial-up connection (that's 10 times faster!).

- DSL connection doesn't necessarily mean that you'll need any new wiring. As long as you have a phone line with which to connect, then you're already all set.

- Many DSL providers will supply you with the right kind of modem as a part of the DSL installation.

There are a few minor disadvantages to DSL that you might want to note. But it is pretty clear that DSL is far superior than any standard connection to the internet, and if you have the choice, you should most certainly aim for the convenience of high-speed. Some of these disadvantages include:

- DSL connections work best when you are located close to the DSL provider's central location. If you are, indeed, close, then this should not be a concern.

- DSL internet is faster for receiving than for sending. However, the sending is still a great deal faster than standard internet services.

- DSL service is not available universally. You'll need to check your local suppliers to find out if they are DSL providers.

If you want reliable, high-speed internet, then you'll likely be looking into a quality DSL provider to supply you with precisely what you've been looking for.

Faster Internet Speed Tips and Secrets

By

By
